Tomas Prasek

Born in the Czech Republic, living between Fontainebleau, a town south of Paris, Prague, and a few places so gorgeous that revealing their names would be foolish. Member of the student movement in 1989, gave up a dream to become a rock singer in order to study cultural anthropology in Amsterdam. Back in Prague only to pick up a law degree, moved to Bangkok where he taught English at the Assumption University. Translated two books, co-founded EuroConnections, a festival of Francophone music in Prague, programmed films for the Prague International Film Festival. Between 1997 and 2001, created and ran Hospitality department at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival or travelled in Asia, the US and Southern Europe. In 2000, he showed the way to the software his then friend created and his then girlfriend named DataKal from a one-way street in the centre of Prague to international success at thirty film festivals on several continents. Eight years later, in October 2008, he co-founded Eventival Ltd. with Adrian Johnson and Dawna Cha to do the same but better and faster, in order to be able to fulfil the other remaining dream: to write.
